Thoughts About My Personal Style

thoughts about my personal style

Hi guys, hope you are well! As you know I love heels, skirts, dresses and glamour style in general. To be honest with you, I got a little tired with all these lately and had a think about developing and changing my personal style slightly (or even dramatically!). Even though I know that I look good in dresses, realistically I can’t always spend 2 hours getting ready before going out. Especially, if I just go to the gym or to meet a friend in Bishop’s park. Recently, I shared with you my article on how to de-clutter a wardrobe. As you probably have noticed already, I share with my readers not just random things, but things that I learnt based on my experience and knowledge.

Whilst de-cluttering my wardrobe, I realised how many things I have that I don’t wear anymore, because of different reasons – they are old, out of fashion, don’t fit my current size, don’t go well with my current style, don’t make me a better person. I asked myself: Why do I still keep them? And found an answer! I think I was keeping them, because:

I still thought they looked nice. Even though I haven’t wore them anymore, I kept saying myself that one day I will style them. Never happened.

Despite the fact that they were too large or too small, I still kept them, because I thought I will lose weight or… I didn’t really want to gain weight, so there is no excuse for that!

I had many items that I wasn’t able to use in the outfit, because they were totally a different story. They were one off pieces, that I couldn’t style. I think, I were keeping them with a hope to style them one day. But realistically, I would have needed to spend more money on more clothes to be able to create a stylish outfit that I probably would not be wearing to much!

Lesson learnt, I decided to:

Give to a charity everything that didn’t fit me or my personal style anymore.

Have a look at what was left and create some looks for future reference.

When I buy a new piece, make sure it will be versatile in my wardrobe.

Don’t spend money on similar pieces.

My today’s casual autumn outfit means a lot to me. I believe, it’s the first major step towards a perfect style and being a better person! Enjoy!Outfit ideas for autumnZara black leather bag London Street StyleUk fashion bloggers Fashion bloggers UK

I love the tips. I try to do a closet clean every couple of months. And when I buy something I always try to remember what I already have so I can mix and match what I have. Wonderful post!

Hi Stephanie, you know I’ve heart a theory that says that you should throw away something, when you get smth new! I honestly think it’s a way to go.
Otherwise, our closets are gonna be over-cluttered!
