How to Style: Red Jumper

Red Jumper how to style

This week on How to style I’m talking about a red jumper. I feel that a lot of people always tend to go for the colour black when styling an outfit. ‘Black’s slimming, black hides a multitude of sins’ I hear people say ALL the time! Let’s talk about how you can style the colour red! As many of you already know, red is my favourite colour. Whether it be lipstick, bags, shoes or clothing – I just adore red and I want to show you, guys, how you can style red too easy!

How do I style red jumper?

Firstly, I pick what item of clothing or accessory is going to be red. For this outfit, I chose this K.Kireeva Red 3D jumper. (*I had the opportunity to work for K.Kireeva back in Ukraine). This really is one of my favourite jumpers. The thickness of wool makes it a warm winter jumper, whilst the 3D design makes the jumper stylish and unique. Once I chose my statement piece, I then chose what I was going to style it with. Today I went for another bold colour – purple in these purple crop trousers which just happen to have been designed by me! I love the way the two colours compliment each other while the jumpers high-low rise design allows the detail on the trousers to come through. I wanted to add minimalistic jewellery to this outfit as to not make it OTT! So I chose this COS ball necklace and these ASOS silver sandals. I also added a hint of glitz and glamour to the outfit by having this sea like a sequined handbag from Topshop. (*what did I say about minimalistic?) Its cross-body, a long chain makes this bag particularly useful on a night out!

Why did I style red jumper in this way?

Today I chose to style red jumper with other colours. As I’ve mentioned before in my colour blocking blogpost – colour is nothing to be afraid of! I wanted to show you how you can wear red with other colours and not simply pair it with the obvious black. Adding minimalistic jewellery and shoes allows a detail, but doesn’t become overbearing.

What else could I match my red jumper with?

For a slightly different twist why not pair your red jumper with a cream zip front midi skirt and a pair of red sandals, and your on your way to a very stylish dinner!

I’m really enjoying the colour blocking. I think I would have probably added white or black with a red sweater but that would risk it looking too ‘punk’ so this is a gorgeous alternative.
Have an excellent and productive Monday beautiful 🙂

I love the red paired with the purple! I always have trouble pairing red and usually go for the cream or black, but this combination is amazing. You’ve inspired me to try something different next time. I love that you designed the trousers. They are beautiful! Love this look!

I agree with you! Colour really shouldn’t be something we’re afraid of, and although I don’t think I’d usually pair a red jumper like this, I think it looks wonderful. And next time I might just have to rethink my choices. Really in love with the color blocking, I think it’s genius. And you surely pull out this so so so well! I’m in love with everything – especially your heels!
