Laura Mercier Loose Translucent powder review

loose setting powder

Today I am going to be reviewing Laura Mercier Loose Translucent powder. This powder is great for setting your makeup, so it lasts longer. Thanks to the finest French cashmere talc in the ingredients, this product is sheer, silky, looks and feels natural. Laura Mercier setting powder has unique light-reflecting ingredients, which creates a soft-focus appearance for fine lines and imperfections. It comes in a circular pot with a screw on lid. Once the lid is off the product can escape via small holes in the cap that is placed on top.

How to apply Laura Mercier setting powder?

For best results, I gently apply the powder to my skin in a light sweeping motion using a powder brush. I find a little goes a long way. Just put some powder on a lid, mix it with a brush and apply lightly onto your face to set the desired areas. Apply after base makeup is complete to seal makeup and have it last all day without sliding off your face. Avoid applying too much of this loose setting powder as your makeup may end up looking cakey.

I love the silky feel to this product. The application is super easy and quick and makes my skin feel like satin. As I said previously this product does go a long way and less really is more.

Beauty tip: If you need to re-apply the powder during the day, I recommend using blotting paper first to remove excess oils from your face and only then re-apply powder. This will help you to actually solve the problem rather than packing on layers and layers of the makeup.

I actually don’t currently use a powder. I’m still on the market for the perfect one. Thanks for sharing Laura Mercier!

I’ve seen amazing reviews for this but personally never tried it! I have a few loose powder to go through but once I’m done with what I have, I might pick this up.

I used to use a really similar one from MAC but I tend to prefer a pressed powder most of the time.

I’ve heard such great things about this setting powder, but haven’t tried it myself. Perhaps when I’m finished with my Tarte, I’ll give it a try! Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a great week ahead, girlie!

Ugh, this is one product I have been wanting to purchase for the longest time but just can’t seem to find it where I live. All the beauty gurus I watch swear by this powder! I heard its wonderful for baking on pale skin girls — like me — too!

I’ve heard so many people rave about this powder! I have yet to try it, but I’m sure I’ll love it!

I’ll have to check it out. I currently use a pressed powder. I’ve always thought loose powder would go on thicker. And thanks for the tip on blotting the oils from your face before reapplying powder. I didn’t know that.

I have this powder and I should admit it is one of the best I have ever tried. Great review…

I have never tried it, but I keep hearing good things about it 🙂 I also love that you said it makes fine lines and wrinkles look softer.
The blotting away the oil before putting on more, is a good idea.

I’ve been reading so many rave reviews about this powder! I’ve been using the NYX HD setting powder for the longest time though and I still have so much left over. I can’t bring myself to buy another one before I finish this one up. Next purchase though, I’ll try this. 🙂
