With it being a new year I have decided to bring to you a new column called ‘How to Style‘. I will be giving you all the help needed to get your 2016 wardrobe up to date and fabulous. Each week I will be tackling another fashion faux pas from clashing colours to going overboard with jewellery. Let’s begin!
Today on How to Style I am going to share with you all how to style a jacket – this fabulous and trendy 80’s Jacket. This is a 100% wool jacket with an amazing green pattern designed by me. I’ve chosen to use a stripe purple-green silk lining for it to emphasise a vivid design of a jacket. To make this jacket look even more modern I went for a matt big buttons. A metal detail makes a jacket look stylish and trendy.
How to style a jacket?
I absolutely love to colour block! That’s why I often style this jacket with a high waisted cropped trousers, also designed by me. I love how colours of these fashion items underline a beauty of each other. I went for a red Zara top just because red is my favourite colour and you can never go wrong with it. To bring all the colours together, I’ve chosen this Topshop’s sequins cross-body handbag and mint high heeled pump shoes. By pairing these items together you’ll get a real WOW factor!
Why did I style them together?
I believe most people are often afraid of colours. They are not sure of how to pair colours and think that too many bold colours can clash and destroy an outfit. However, these cleverly picked colours complement each other perfectly. Some style books say that you should only have up to 3 colours in the outfit. But I don’t think it’s true. Nowadays, you are free to get creative and be brave with your outfits. Who doesn’t want to get noticed? Adding a touch of sparkle to the outfit with this Topshop sequins cross-body handbag, turning this tailored outfit into a night on the town look instantly.
What else could I match my 80’s jacket with?
Don’t worry, if you arr still unsure about too many bold colours! Why not try pairing this colourful jacket with Topshop’s Wrap Front Bodycon Dress? Simple in detail, but will allow the bold colours in the jacket to stand out without you feeling too on a show. Pair with a low or high heeled ankle boot to go from day to night. And how would you style a jacket?
