Do Minimal Make Up

You don’t need to apply thick makeup to look good at home. Apply light foundation when you need to. It is recommended that you go for the natural look by applying as little makeup as possible.

Do you want to know how to look good at home with a natural look? Well, it is as simple as curling your lashes, applying mascara, using a light blush, applying light lip gloss, and using soft eyeshadow. You know you did it right when people will think you are not wearing any makeup at all.

Make Sure Your Hair is Clean

It is important that you wash your hair every other day. If your hair is oily, then you might need to wash it daily. If it is on a dry side, you might only need to do it every third day. Don’t forget to apply conditioner to your hair, but not on the roots.

If you have oily hair, consider applying conditioner first before you shampoo it. Keep in mind that you need to leave the conditioner in for a couple of minutes. While waiting for the conditioner to settle, take a shower yourself. To stay fresh throughout the day, take a shower in the morning and at night. And after any physical exercises.

When you notice split ends, get a haircut. You should also consider getting one if you are ready for a makeover.

Wear Something Nice at Home

Another tip on how to look good at home is to make sure to wear nice clothes. You should decide on your look, whether you prefer a neutral one or you want to wear bright colours. Then clean up your wardrobe.

This is a hard task, and you might need to ask help from a friend so that they give you an objective feedback about your clothes choices. Even if the item is super comfortable, you shouldn’t wear it at home, if it doesn’t look good on you. Once it’s removed from your closet, you will not be tempted to wear it. Simple!

Now that you got rid of the stuff you don’t want to wear anymore, go shop for new clothes. Find clothes that fit your style. There are so many brands out there that sell good-looking, stylish but comfortable home wear. Just make sure that you don’t splurge too much on clothing items, or else your wardrobe will be full once again.

For example, invest in a nice and simple cardigan that you will wear at home. This item can be worn either with a dress, or top and trousers. It will keep you warm as well as looking stylish.

I agree that looking good at home is important in case anyone drops by. But it’s also useful for your own mental health, and for productivity. Practising self-care shouldn’t be about lazing around, it should be about viewing your body as one of your best assets, and caring for it, as well as your mind. I’d certainly recommend a tinted moisturiser over a foundation, as it helps to moisturise the skin rather than blocking pores, which can ultimately lead to unsightly breakouts. I think a clean existence is best when you’re at home – if your hair is clean and your wardrobe decisions are easy in the morning, that’s two difficulties straight out of your way.
