Dior Illuminating Powder Review

Dior Illuminating Powder Review

Hi guys, today I am bringing you a review of my absolute favourite highlighter – Dior Illuminating Powder. I have a love-hate relationship with Dior. Sometimes I absolutely love their products, but sometimes I can’t see any result using them. Most of the times, I’d be happy with a make-up range, but disappointed by skincare. The highlighter I’m reviewing today is one of my favourite highlighters in my make-up collection and definitely one of the most used.

What is Dior Illuminating Powder?

“Sculpt the face with touches of light, Diorskin Nude Air Glowing Gardens draws inspiration from the technique of strobing. This powder has extremely fine illuminating pigments, which is embossed with a delicate floral motif. Its exquisite texture enhances the complexion with a subtle iridescent glow” – Dior claims.

Dior Illuminating Powder comes in a heavy silver compact case. It comes in two shades: 001 glowing pink and 002 glowing nude. Mine is in the shade pink. This product comes with a small Kabuki brush and a small carrier bag, making it easy to keep your product safe whilst travelling. the brush is very soft and useful for a travelling because it doesn’t have a long handle. The product itself had the writing NUDE embossed in the powder along with a floral print that is also embossed in the powder. This highly glamorous and luxurious product is currently sold out, unfortunately.

How to apply Dior Illuminating Powder?

Simply swoop the illuminating powder across the cheekbones, brow bones and cupids bow. I also like to use this product as an eyeshadow. This product has great colour pigmentation, so it should last a lifetime. A little goes a long way. for a more dramatic effect apply more product, useless but all over the face to achieve a dewy skin look.

I would suggest using Mac Fix+ to emphasise the highlighter pay off if you need to achieve that glow for a night out! I use a Smashbox fan brush or my Real Techniques 300 brush to apply the highlighter. Fan brush will give you a more precise and lightweight result when 300 brush will help you to pack on a product.

What do I like about Dior Illuminating Powder?

This product is my absolute favourite 2016 highlighter so far! I adore everything from the exquisite packaging and design work to how great the product looks on my skin. As I stated this product is currently sold out, as it is a limited edition. I mentioned this product in my February beauty favourites on YouTube. so go ahead and check it out!

Where can you buy Dior Illuminating Powder?

Unfortunately, this product is currently sold out as it was a limited edition. However, I bought mine from Debenhams in Manchester. I’d suggest checking your local Boots and other department stores. You may have some luck such as I did when travelled to Manchester.

This looks beautiful on you! I love the packaging and the little brush that comes with it. It’s a shame it’s sold out. If I see it around I’ll definitely try it!

Ohhh I wish I’d have this illuminating powder over here. Your skin glows in such a natural and subtle way. I also love the idea of using it as an eyeshadow due to its great pigmantation. I definitely just fell for it!!

Yuliya, this is such a great review. This highlighter looks amazing on you, and thanks for a tip about spraying Mac Fix Plus on top of it; I will definitely try it:) It’s sad that it’s discontinued though, but I’ll check if it’s still for sale in some department stores here in Montreal.
