What Men Need To Know Before Purchasing A Customised Engagement Ring

how to choose a perfect Customised Engagement Ring

What girl doesn’t dream about the perfect engagement ring? Being in love with my boyfriend I dream about this special engagement moment every day (*sometimes twice). The variety of rings on a market is crazy, so I’ve created this blog post for our beloved partners to help them out in their choice!  You’ve found the perfect girl and fallen madly in love. You’ve even already asked her father for his blessing to marry his daughter. Now you’re busy working up the nerve to propose and trying to find the perfect ring on your budget. You know you don’t want an ordinary ring because your girl is not ordinary so how to you afford a personal custom touch without breaking the bank?

So, here are a few things that men need to know about choosing a customised engagement ring – from a girl’s perspective:

– Choose a local jeweller or diamond wholesaler instead of a chain jeweller. Because their brand is so famous, these chains raise their prices, which affect what kind of deals you’ll get. However, local jewellers often set more reasonable prices and you’ll get more personalised attention. Find one that will work with you and your ideas.Buy a diamond. Purchasing a diamond? While all of the 4 C’s (cut, clarity, colour, and carat size) are important, you might be surprised by what actually causes a diamond’s sparkle. Technically, the cut of the diamond is largely responsible for its brilliant sparkle and polish so it pays to get an excellent cut. Another money saving tip is to purchase a diamond just under a carat versus exactly one carat or just over. In fact, there can be as much as a 20 percent increase from .98 carat to a 1.02 diamond weight, even though you can’t tell the difference by a mere glance.

You also need to decide on a diamond shape. While the square princess cut is the most popular, the heart-shaped, the classic round, and the marquis all work beautifully too.

– Work with skilled professional designers to create the perfect ring. They’ll guide you through the process from selecting an ideal diamond to which metals work best with your concept. While gold is still traditional and popular, many couples are leaning towards platinum because it’s more durable even though it costs more. While gold is technically shinier, it wears faster and you may need a new band within 15 years. These designers will assist you in selecting a band or setting, be it a classic solitaire or a Pave’ setting, consisting of lots of diamonds set close together, and often combined with the halo where tiny diamonds also encompass the centre stone.

– Start early. This allows the designers plenty of time. Typically, it can take around six weeks for the entire process from the very first sketches to discussing ideas to building a 3-D model of your potential ring. But once it’s done, you’ll have one of the most beautiful hand-crafted diamond engagement rings.

Wow, you explained it very clearly and concisely. Loved this post! I’m embarrased to admit I know pretty much nothing about diamond cuts and stuff, and that’s something I’d really like to dive into. I wish my future husband (whoever he is) will see this post and gets the perfect custom-made engagement ring. Sorry guys, but the pressure is real!! 😉

This is a great guide for the guys out there! My fiance did a great job customizing mine, I’m so lucky. He did go to a local jeweler, and with their help picked out a beautiful stone (quality > quantity) and set it in a custom design setting. I could not be happier with my ring! Thanks for sharing these tips, I’m sure these will help a couple of clueless boyfriends out there!
